WILCO

Wilco is such a fine band. I respect them immensely.

The lyrics are beautifully elegant, pastoral, representational, real & gritty, and the music is full of passion and intent to convey the mood intended for the song. I am in awe of them. Nels Cline is amazing. We went recently to see the new film "Ashes of American Flags" (Which was released on DVD April 18, 2009), And it blew our minds! The musicianship, lyricism and film making was superb!

ALSO: Watch for PDP's Max Crawford, Paul Mertens and Nick Broste in the film playing horns:  "Total Pros"!

"Ashes of American Flags is a new film presenting Wilco live in concert during their 2008 tour. Culled from concerts in five quintessentially American venues - Cain’s Ballroom in Tulsa, Tipitina’s in New Orleans, The Mobile Civic Center in Mobile, The Ryman Auditorium in Nashville and the 9:30 Club in Washington D.C. – the film captures the energy, poignancy and musicality of a Wilco concert and tour. Directed and produced by Brendan Canty and Christoph Green (Sunken Treasure, Burn to Shine)"
