Deirdre O'Donahue ~ SWEETHEART OF THE RADIO
Host of KCRW's "SNAP!" 1980 through 1991

Deirdre-O-Donahue.jpg

Sean Pope Coffey (PDP's Brother / founding drummer, and co-designer of the PDP sound), contacted me recently to see if I had any recordings of beloved radio show host Deirdre O'Donahue from KCRW (as he is working on writing gift for her).
Deirdre was a lovely woman and a fantastic radio DJ,
and she held PDP under her wing in the way only a 'sister of a different  mother' can.
We loved her. A soul sister for sure.
I went through all my boxes of cassettes and found only this recording of her on the air debuting our 1st e.p. in 1988.
What a lovely voice and soul.

Deirdre invited us on her show to play live a couple of times, but those cassettes are back home in Hawai'i,
so I will have to dig those up on my next trip home. But, for now brother Sean - this is for you,
and for all those who are interested to hear what a beautiful gentile soul sounds like in control of the radio -
pre all the clear channel etc., bull shit.... listen on.

PDP (fall upon me / pulling touch)
The Church (under the milky way / maybe these boys)
Mighty Lemon Drops
