You are listening to the angelic voice of Jack Kerouac
reading his poem: "October in the railroad earth".
It is a love song to San Francisico.
Let his gentile, sympathetic voice roll over you - you are in good hands.
You could tell that Kerouac felt the Gloom of his era's oppression,
but, he was always looking for the light,
and
hoped for the Buddhist redemption - (though sadly, his old demons & ghosts won out in the end).
I feel in him the noble bulge of the muscle of man against
Moloch.
(Allen Ginsberg used "Moloch"
as a metaphor for capitalism and industrial civilization,
and for America, more specifically).
I love Jack. Always will.
