(I stopped by Tony Fitzpatrick's studio recently to visit and he gave me the
news that Rollo had died).

Rollo Banks was the one the famed "Sailor Jerry"
hand picked to run his Tattoo shop in Honolulu after
he died. Rollo reminded me of a pirate, with his
mischievousness and brass. He had the gift of great
story telling and masterful wit. While I was in
"The Squids", our guitarist Beano Shots introduced
us to Rollo. He did some art for us that became our logos.
I used to love to visit him just to hear his stories. Rollo
and Yikes (Writer Michael Corcoran) are the reason I
found Austin on the map cause they moved there, and I
followed some time later just to see 'um. Michael wrote
a beautiful eulogy to Rollo which is included below.

REMEMBERIN' ROLLO

The Picture to the right is a scan of one of Rollo's Art works,
That I bought from him at China Sea Tattoo in Honolulu.
(I didn't have the heart to take it out of the frame,
And it was too big for my scanner so I had to do it in
sections. I also scanned it through the glass -
that's why it looks fuzzy -
but in reality it's as crisp and clean as he is known for!).
